What We Can Help With
- Content corrections — If a rule on our site is outdated or incorrect, please let us know. Include your county, the specific rule, and a link to the primary source if you have it.
- Coverage requests — If your county isn't covered and you'd like to see it added, send us the name and state. High-request counties get prioritized.
- General questions — We're happy to point you in the right direction. We don't provide legal advice, but we can often tell you which government office to call.
What We Can't Help With
We're a research resource, not a building department. We can't:
- Tell you with certainty whether your specific project requires a permit (only your local building department can do that)
- Provide legal advice on neighbor disputes or HOA conflicts
- Recommend contractors or help you get bids
